Action of the Russian Art-Group "Archeopterix",
in the Bijlmer region of Amsterdam.

The members of the Russian art group Archeopteryx (from Izhevsk Russia) are looking for means to protect the inhabitants of Geldershoofd. The artists regard the people who live in big housing 'boxes' in modern cities as fragile beings that should be handled with care...
The artists already "packed" several living house-blocks in Russian cities by painting the protection sign "HANDLE WITH CARE" on their façade. Normally this sign is printed on transport boxes that carry fragile goods. With their action the artists declare:
PEOPLE ARE NOT GOODS! PEOPLE ARE NOT OBJECTS OF CONSUMPTION!
PEOPLE SHOULD HANDLE EACH OTHER WITH CARE!
On Tuesday September 16 the artists will hold a small ceremonie at the highrise Geldershoofd (metro station Ganzehoef) at 17.00 hrs, to initiate the wall painting.
