
WORLD WIDE WEB SITE
The World Wide Web Site of the Next 5 Minutes will contain all the
important information about the event: the main topics, relevant articles,
information about the guests, background information for the workshops and
debates.
* During the entire conference there will be special activities on the
Internet that will ensure that the reach of the Event is wider than
Amsterdam and Rotterdam: Intercontinental Cu See Me connections and Inter
Relay Chat theme sessions should enable global participation. Several
artists will use the Web environment to realise new works of art.
TELECONFERENCING
During the event a videoconference network will be established between the
Rotterdam and Amsterdam, both at the sites and at the cities' broadcast
studio's.
* City to city, there will be some live sound and vision connectivity via
ISDN lines and
simultaneous live broadcasting on the local cable network of events,
interviews and performances. Also there's a possibility for guests to
intervene from other locations outside of the Netherlands.
*In the shuttle bus, running between Amsterdam and Rotterdam, a new
experiment will take place to try and establish a live TV connection with
low- tech cellular technology. During the four days this will be known as
Shuttle TV.
*Visitors of the N5M are also invited to make use of these facilities for
presenting work and to experiment with its possibilities.

N5M RADIO AND TELEVISION
All guests and visitors of the Next 5 Minutes are cordially invited to
participate actively in the creation of Next 5 Minutes Radio and
Television. From the studios in Paradiso and external studios there will be
continuous live radio and live television transmissions during the entire
conference. There will be live-interviews with guests and for programmes
brought on tape.
RADIO
The N5M Radio transmissions will be aired on the Radio 100 (FM 98.2) and
Radio Patatapoe (FM 97.2).
*Reporters are invited to make interviews and reports about the debates,
with their own equipment. Besides the daytime programming, in the evenings
and at night there is time scheduled for live-mixes, interviews,
soundscapes and communication with the Techno Party.
*The studio's will have low-tech facilities, any extra equipment must be
>brought in by the volunteers.
*The format of the radio transmissions is a basic half hour regime, with
varying forms as conversations, tapes, reports about the conference and
dialogues with the TV-sound from the conference.
*Besides that there will be experimental broadcasting of the sounds via
Internet, in collaboration with xs4all and desk.nl
TELEVISION
The N5M Television transmissions will be shown on 2 Amsterdam Open Channels
and on one Open Channel in Rotterdam.
*In the Paradiso studio there will be live interviews and discussions.
Visitors of the conference to welcome to send proposals to Nina Meilof
(meilof@dds.nl) for their own slots of
live television.
*In the external studio at the Rembrandtsplein (centre of Amsterdam)
digital television will be made, including messages on teletext
