David Barr
Biography
David Barr has been an advocate for HIV treatment since 1987 working to ensure that HIV drug development is well funded, meets the needs of people living with AIDS, and to incorporate people with AIDS into the research and drug development process. He has also developed and run treatment education programs for people with HIV. He was a Staff Attorney for Lambda Legal Defense Fund, and Policy Director for the Gay Mens' Health Crisis. He was the Executive Director of the Forum for Collaborative HIV Research. He is currently a Consultant working with, among others, the Tides FOundation and Open Society Institute. He is a native New Yorker.
