Biography

Degree in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration Technology Coordinator for Project Enlace Quiche (www.enlacequiche.org.gt) providing access to ICTs in Mayan population in Guatemala's rural areas. Enlace Quiche is currently working with 12 technology centers for mayan teachers and 8 primary schools using technology to improve the children's learning abilities in their native language. Also in charge of coordinating the creation of Educational Materials using ICTs with Mayan organizations in Guatemala including the Guatemalan Acadamy For Mayan Languages, Access to Bilingual Education Project (PAEBI/WorldLearning), OKMA - linguisitcs. Webmaster for www.ebiguatemala.org a web-portal created to facilitate communication and the exchange of ideas between people from the 25 different languages groups spoken in Guatemala incluiding 22 Mayan languages, Garífuna, Xinca and Spanish. Enlace Quiché, Santa Cruz de Quiché, Guatemala. After the Guatemalan civil war ended, the region that suffered the most atrocities received assistance from the EU, US, UN. One program was the cultural and language revitalization of a couple of major Mayan languages. The project has a number of interesting rural programs to strengthen what are mainly oral languages.
