ReadBrett Stalbaum is an artist and research theorist specializing in information
theory, database, and software development. A serial collaborator, he
was a co-founder of the Electronic Disturbance Theater in 1998, for
which he co-developed software called FloodNet (http://www.thing.net/~rdom/ecd/ecd.html),
which has been used on behalf of the Zapatista movement against the
websites of the Presidents of Mexico and the United States, as well as
the Pentagon. As Forbes Magazine put it "Perhaps the first electronic
attack against a target on American soil was the result of an art
project." For EDT, this was all learned behavior taught by the example
of the Zapatistas. Stalbaum has been part of many other individual and
collaborative projects, and has published widely on digital art, its
context and aesthetics, and location aware media. He is a past editor
of Switch, the new media journal of the CADRE digital media lab.
Aalam Wassef, 38, is an Egyptian independent artist (installations, new media), blogger and internet activist.

Amy Sara Carroll is Assistant Professor of American Culture / Latino / a Studies and English at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She received a Ph.D. in Literature from Duke University (2004), and an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Cornell University (1995).
ReadBorn 1969 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, Peljhan in 1992 graduated from the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. Also in 1992 he founded the arts organization 'Projekt Atol' and in 1995 Project Atol`s technological branch 'Pact Systems' (Projekt Atol Communication Technologies) in the frame of which he carries out research in the fields of performance, technology applications, radio, sound, video, film, lectures and situations.
ReadMicha Cárdenas is a Lecturer in the Visual Arts Department and Critical Gender Studies Program at University of California San Diego (USCD), a transgender performance and new media artist and theorist. She is a researcher at the Experimental Game Lab at CRCA and at CalIT2. Her work deals with the interplay of technology, gender, sex and biopolitics. She currently lives and works in San Diego and Los Angeles.

Pussy Riot : Art or Politics?
The indictment says that I committed disorderly conduct motivated by religious hatred and enmity and by the hatred of Orthodox Christians. I fundamentally don't understand this statement. Our performance aimed to attract the attention of the Russian clergy and the rector of Cathedral of the Christ the Savior, patriarch Kirill. We are representatives of our generation, and we are at a loss after his actions and appeals.
