Fake Folk
23min.
Fake Folk is an ironic fictitious documentary on the customs of an ancient European people's history as demonstrated by one of their folk-dancing representatives living in Montreal, Canada. Yueyj Makata is a quirky character whose earnest devotion to the preservation of her people's heritage is a satirical echo of the constructed identity of Canadian multiculturalism. Fake Folk parodies everything from traditional folk-dancing to documentary television.
