Ook in Mexico is het weleens hommeles. Dystopia biedt een kijkje in de Mexicaanse doofpotten. Een goed voorbeeld van zo´n doofpot is in <i>Al Final del Surco</i> verfilmd. De fictie van vader en zoon die een reis ondernemen, wordt wreed verstoord door een non-fictionele razzia van een overheidsleger. De film vestigt op indringende wijze aandacht voor deze zwarte bladzijde in de Mexicaanse geschiedenis.
