<b><font size="2">Undercurrent</font> <br /><font size="1">Merav Artzi | 2008 | 35’ | Engelse ondertiteling</font> <br /></b>Regisseur Merav Artzi begon met het filmen van <i>Undercurrent</i> toen OT301 van een autonoom, anarchistisch kraakpand veranderde in onroerend goed bezitter. Een nieuwe positie die veel nieuwe regels, voorschriften en verantwoordelijkheden met zich meebrengt. OT301 is een plek waar een verscheidenheid aan ideeën, individuen en groepen samenkomt. Deze documentaire staat stil bij de prangende vraag: Kan een gemeenschap als deze afstand nemen van de rest van de samenleving om een geheel eigen systeem te vormen? Verschilt dit met wat er in de wereld eromheen gebeurt? Het werk van Artzi onderzoekt ideologische benaderingen en real-world alternatieven voor bestaande sociale structuren. <p />
<b><font size="2">Table, Bed, Chair</font> <br /><font size="1">Robert Hack & Jakob Proyer | 2007 | 30' | Engelse ondertiteling</font> <br /></b><i>Table, Bed, Chair</i> is een onafhankelijk geproduceerde documentaire over kraken. De film toont de hedendaagse kraakscene, waarbij zo nu en dan wordt teruggekeken op de kleurrijke geschiedenis van deze beweging. In Nederland heeft een algemene acceptatie van kraakpraktijken geleid tot een open sociaal klimaat dat het mogelijk maakte voor een city-within-a-city – gekenmerkt door autonome organisatiestructuren en afwijkende leefwijzen – om te groeien. <i>Table, Bed, Chair</i> kijkt naar hoe vroegere idealen nu geleefd worden en welke uitdaging de kraakbeweging te wachten staat in deze tijden van politiek extremisme en globalisatie. <p><b>Creative City Re-Imagined - Debate</b></p><p>We are witnessing the extension of the economic into the creative domain; vision vanishes for so called economic necessities. Amsterdam as a pragmatic city uses its creative economy credo as a tool in an image branding project that denies the inequalities it creates itself.<br />Based on the experiences of artists and activists contributing to the creative climate in this city, we would like to analyze the current situation for artists and cultural initiatives in Amsterdam. <br />The participants are invited to reflect on the precarious position of the unsubsidized arts in Amsterdam and to develop future scenarios.</p><p>With:</p><p>Merijn Oudenampsen (flexmens): initiator of flexmens.org, a critical internet platform and magazine on politics, precarity and urbanism. </p><p>Karin Christof (agentur): founded project space Agentur and curates it in cooperation with changing guestcurators since 2003. </p><p>Jaap Draaisma (Urban resort / Vrije Ruimte): Is part of critical think tank Vrije Ruimte. With Stichting Urban Resort he is running the Volkskrantgebouw, a working space for artists and entrepreneurs. He has been part of the processes implementing the "Broedplaatsenbeleid" in Amsterdam. </p><p>Dierck Roosen (OT301) is one of the founders of the OT301 project. He is artist and also one of the programmers and policy makers in the OT301.
