N-event 4: An evening of new music and pragmatic media

<p>The N Collective is a pan-european collective of musicians and artists working together in different formats, groups, and projects. <p>What is <b>N</b>? <br /> </p><p><b>N </b>is a collective of musicians that work together on creating music and performances.</p><p><b>N</b> consists of a flexible number of people working in different constellations and groups. Each of these groups has its own identity and its own specific goals and methods.</p><p><b>N</b> has a core of people and a fringe that circles around it - some people are more active within what N does then others, these people have more influence on what N is...N is what N does... N will continue to change and evolve through the ideas and efforts of its people.</p><p><b>N</b> does not limit itself to any disciplines or methods. It does have a certain taste for certain music, strategies, and styles. These are subject to change. </p><p><b>N</b> is not connected to any specific scene, discipline or organisation. It moves freely through improvisation, composition, performance, art, dance, electronic music, modern classical music, improvised music and so forth. Leaving its mark wherever it goes.</p><p><b>N</b> strives to create it's own network of interrelated people, groups, and organisations. We use existing infrastructures to organise performances and events that create a proper platform for the specific works.</p><p><b>N</b> aims to present its work outside of the dogmas of established new music or improv institutions, still believing strongly in the need for new music and new art. </p><p><b>N</b> works towards accessibility of performance and presentation, trying to fully facilitate the experience of the work by informed as well as uninformed audiences. </p><p><b>N</b> is nice.<br /></p><p>The first three N events took place at an appartment (scheldestraat 75), at STEIM, and at the Mediamatic Supermarket to great critical acclaim. Next events will take place in Bergen (Borealis Festival) & Stavanger (NU Music Festival) Norway.</p>
