Barbara Abrash
Barbara Abrash is a teacher, curator and independent producer. She is the director of public programs at the Center for Media, Culture and History and the Center for Religion and Media at New York University where, since 1986, she has taught a graduate seminar in media and history in the Public History Program.
Her films include Indians, Outlaws and Angie Debo (PBS, American Experience), which won the Eric Barnouw Award of the Organization of American Historians, and Perestroika from Below (Ch4/UK). Her publications include 9-11 and after: a virtual case book, an interactive website; a special issue of the media journal Wide Angle (2001), on the work of media activist George Stoney; and articles in Cineaste, Radical History Review, Independent Documentary and Visual Anthropology Review.
